The following Acts and Regulations pertain to pipelines.

  • HS in E (Pipeline Regulations) Act

  • Resource Management Act and relevant Regional and District Plan rules

ISO 14001

The Refinery Auckland Pipeline (RAP) is currently Certified to ISO 14001 for its Environmental Management System (EMS).

Our Statement of Environmental Policy for the Pipeline is found here .

The management system has been set in place to ensure that all aspects of work performed by staff, contractors and service providers will have minimal impact on the environment inclusive of landowners, public, flora, fauna and existing historical sites and infrastructure.

All personnel performing work or interfacing with the pipeline and its easement are trained in the Environmental Aspects and their potential Impact. Our Objectives are to meet our Key Performance indicators for 2011 as outlined below.

All known areas of sensitivity are red flagged on the 1 kilometre wide corridor from Marsden Point to Wiri in South Auckland and these maps shall be reviewed annually for any new areas requiring additional protection for their sensitive nature.

NZRC has set Objectives and Targets for the RAP for 2011 These include the development of GIS (Geographical Information System)
maps for each section of the pipeline . The Maps have been updated with clearer aerial pictures of the environmental corridor and incorporate the latest data for registered archaeological sites and improvements in the Topographical Maps based on November 2006 Edition V 13 LINZ (Land Information New Zealand). NZRC welcomes any feedback or queries about the RAP Objectives and Targets for 2011.
